Setting up

Creating an event and getting a code you can print.

How do I create an event?

Sign in, press New event, and fill in three fields. You will have a QR code about a minute later.

  1. Sign in with your email address. There is no password.
  2. Press New event.
  3. Enter the event name, the date, and pick the kind of event.
  4. Add a cover photo if you have one. You can add it later.
  5. Press Create event.

The form asks for a name, a date and, optionally, a cover photo. Everything else has a sensible default you can change afterwards, so there is nothing to get right first time.

The date matters more than it looks: your upload window and your storage period are both measured from it rather than from the day you signed up, so creating the event months early costs you nothing and means the code is ready whenever you get to the printing.

How do I check it works before the event?

Scan your own QR code with your phone and upload one photo. It takes two minutes and it is the only real test.

Scanning your own code exercises the whole chain: the code itself, the page, the upload, and the album. Looking at the dashboard proves none of it.

Do it on the day you print the cards, not on the morning of the event. If something is wrong, you want to find out while there is still time to reprint.

Can I change what guests see?

Yes. The Theme tab controls the palette, the typography, the layout and the welcome line, and there is a live preview beside it.

None of it changes your dashboard, which stays in its own neutral chrome. The preview is a phone, and it renders the same components your guests will see rather than an approximation.

Dark mode is worth considering for an evening event. Venues are dim, and a dark upload page is easier to read at 20 percent screen brightness.
